This pen thing is throwing me off. I now approach all writing implements with a touch of scepticism. I am surprised when one of them actually writes. I find it normal when a pen refuses to do more than dent the paper. I may start carrying more pens with me - or possibly switch to pencils and carry a sharpener.
Still not sure what superpower this represents.
