Havens magic escapism

Ive been escaping the last week into the magical world of Candace Havens. Her novels about witches and warlocks have captivated me, not because of their magic but for the down-to-earth comfy-cozy-homey life they portray. The small-town Texas setting reminds me of things I loved about the south - warmth, nice people, cheap flights and a sense that you could get anywhere you wanted. Then of course, she has great decorating scenes, close friends, romance and lots and lots of food: cooking, restaurant dining and eating in general. Mmm! Sometimes its good to be in the perfect small town, even if you are being pursued by the underworld.
